  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New thread so people could find details.

I took my 2012 R-spec into the dealer today for the April 2012 version update. Service manager said there five DVD's to apply - two software and three maps. The update estimate was 5 1/2 hours. He plugged the car into the charger at 8:17 and the last map finished processing at 1:46. Map #3 hung partway through and had to be restarted. 30 minutes was lost.

Tech time was listed as just over one hour.

AFAIK, no radio pre-set's or cell phone Bluetooth settings were harmed and everything seems to work as before although complete testing is going to take awhile.

How much did they charge?

It was a freebie due to the car being sold with an outdated map version.

Dang! You came out great! When I was negotiating for my 2010 (bought used) I was thinking all throughout the process to ask for the update at the end of the negotiations to seal the deal........ but, forgot about it (gettin' old). I was thinking at the time it was maybe $75-$80 like a Honda....... silly me, right?!

Had I had any clue it was $300+ I'm sure I would have remembered! Too late now :(
