  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all,
First post here and looking for some help. I’ve got a 2015 Genesis 3.8 Ultimate, having trouble with the 9.4 inch screen. It just displays the Genesis logo, the back up camera works as it should and the top of the screen displays the radio info as well as the climate control info. I’ve hit the reset button, disconnected the battery and had the dealer look at it as well. They say I need a whole new unit, has anyone replaced one of these themselves? I’ve found a used head unit online (I know it’s a gamble). Am I safe to assume the screen is good? If I do replace the head unit is it a plug-n-play or would I need to program it (ie: anti theft)? Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Scott

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
You should search for the FSM on here and read the r&i steps to see how involved it is and if programming is required

You cannot install a used head unit. It must have a factory calibration on it and requires dealer programming to set the feature level to your car. It may be possible to opt for a factory remanufactured unit if Hyundai is doing that for these.

You could try taking out and putting the SD card in the slot while you're looking at the Genesis logo. If the system reboots, it may not be totally dead- just needs a new Micron solid state drive installed in the control unit. I've not taken one of these apart, but for a $2500 part it might be worth a shot.
