  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

All, seems like a lot complain about rattles, squeaks andcreaks in our luxury quiet cabins. I compiled a list of what I have trackeddown so far some of these may or may not apply but worth a try. If you haveother suggestions for a noise free cabin, post in here too. So far, my resultshave resulted in a tomb like quietness even over the worst pavements.

1. Sunglass holder, this seems to be culprit on2015s.
a. To remove, open the sunglass holder, remove to Philipsscrews, and use a plastic pry tool start from the windshield side and prydownward, once out remove connectors.
b. Once out you will see a bunch of screws toremove the covers and PCB board, once you get it all apart add some dense foamtape to certain areas that will dampen the squeaking.

2.
Spare tire area the tool kit.

a. Life the trunk liner, and I rotated my tool kitso the arrow on is pointed toward the rear of the car, you can also add somefelt tape to the bottom which will help reduce the squeaking noise.

3.
Glove box, if you push on the edges of the glovebox there is a bit of play.

a. Add some of the clear plastic bumpers that isused for kitchen drawers to both corners this makes for a tighter fit.

4.
Panoramic roof – loose parts

a. I noticed more creaking/slight rattle type noiseafter getting it back from pano roof seal replacement.
b. There are two accordion style folding weatherstirps that rides in a track on the glass make sure these are on the track. I’mnot sure if the dealership took these off when doing the seal replacement butthese will cause some noise if they are just sitting in the channel.

5.
Doors – Noticed when going over bumps I get athud like if the door wasn’t closed all the way.

a. Open the door, you will see the black 12mm bolts, take box wrench and tighten these you will notice some are kind of lose.
b. The door guide bolts, if you look at the doorbelow the hinges you will see where the guide goes into the door, remove theplastic shroud and tighten these as well. The plastic shroud just pulls off ifyou got kung fu finger grip.

6.
Metallic clank sound from drive side dash ordoor.

a. Have not able to track this one down, I didremove the entire lower driver side panel to see what could cause it, and founda few loose bolts on the knee airbag and fuse box holders. But one of this hasresolved this issue.

This is all I have so far and like I said my interior isvery quiet, even on rough roads. If anyone have fixed other squeaks and whatnot list it here. Excuse the formatting this forum won't let me do the nice bullets.

Thank you for taking the time to make a list of issues and your solutions. I will try to take a look at these this weekend as I do have a couple of them (sunglass holder most recently)

No problem, I just read over it and there is a lot of formatting and what not issues. I typed this in word and the forum will not allow it to display correctly. But try these out so far all of these have made a huge difference.

interestingly i haven't noticed any of those issues on my car (2015 25k miles). however, on occasion i hear a slight flutter in the center hvac dash vents. and also the front passenger seat headrest will occasionally make a noise when the seat is unoccupied. luckily for me i don't have the pano roof!!!

That's good, I got my 15 with 9k miles on it, and around 22k now. But I'm sure your car without the pano roof is a lot more rigid. Even then its pretty solid.

Never really noticed any of your issues in my car except for the Pano roof but that damn thing is so loud it might just be covering up all the other squeaks and rattles! That will be just my luck, once they fix the roof all new noises will pop up. I did however have just about all the issues you listed on my 2015 Sonata. Every time I had it in they would put padding here and there, replaced the roof, door control panels and the sunglass holder. It was annoying but my local dealer was good about addressing all of my concerns in regards to noise issues. When they finally bought the car back for the motor issues my pano roof and interior was completely silent.

I suppose I’ve been fortunate as I do have the pano roof and haven’t heard any rattles, creaks or irritating noises from it nor the sunroof in six months driving. Luck of the draw...

Thanks for the info, very helpful. My 2015 pano roof creaks a little bit when the shade is open. Will check out your suggestion. Knock on wood that's the only thing bothersome right now.
