  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If this module has been replaced with another used one, does it need to be reprogrammed by Hyundai? Or can a $700+ scanner program it also? I assumed the modules were all plug and play.

Good question. I need to know this as well. If Hyundai modules are plug and play; then I would save about $1000 by not buying a high-end scan tool with the module program features.

A dealer level scan tool is necessary to re-program modules and the main computer. If memory serves, the tool is actually $5000. Most dealers have a few and share them amongst mechanics. Not to mention if something goes wrong and they didn't source the parts, they most likely wouldn't want that liability.
