  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does the 5.0 have the same hesitation problem as the 3.8?

I have the 3.8 Ultimate and love it, except for one thing: when I accelerate from a stopped position, there is a slight hesitation. This is especially noticeable when i turn from a stopped position onto another street. My dealers says it is the car looking for the right gear. I was wondering if the 5.0 had the same issue.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
There are others posts in this issue. Many with AWD. I have as yet to experience turning and having the hesitation. Might check with the other posts for more background data.

Are you planning to trade up to a 5.0 if it doesn't. For me, I just go manual if I know I need to get on it. Our Armada behaves similarly (not as bad) and our Accord doesn't have that issue from a stop but if you decelerate rapidly then get back on the gas, the transmission will say wtf. My car is RWD and I'd never say it was a real problem.

hesitation? I don't have any at all.

I have had that issue with it not accelerating at all from a turn while punching it.

No, I am not trading up -- yet. I was just trying to figure out if I should be thinking about getting the 5.0 for my next car or stick with the 3.8. Other than the hesitation, I love it. The hesitation reminds me of tubo engines withthe turbo lag. Drives me nuts!

I had a problem when I was running with a friends GS, we both was going about 20MPH. I floored it and it didnt do anything!! I thought maybe I was in ECO, but nope I was in Sport mode. :(

if you are having a "spirited driving competition", keep it in manual.

Also, grammar check.

No hesitation with my 5.0 and when your cruising along at 60 and want to pass someone, 90 comes rather quickly if your not paying attention :D

Since I sustained severed/full rupture of my right achilles tendon on June 4th, had surgery and won't be able to drive for who knows how long....
From my driving experiences up until then, there was zero hesitation when mashing the go pedal.
