  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My wife left one of our remote keys on top of the car and then drove off.
The key was never seen again. The local dealer was able to replace the key
fairly promptly but it cost $466 WOW. Fortunately, my comprehensive car insurance paid for all of it but if you have a high deductabe--watch out.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Others have been quoted prices of a little more than half that, but they did not need one in an emergency.

That's actually a pretty good deal when compared to the cost of replacing a mercedes key.

that's interesting, so the car was able to pick up the signal from the key laying on top of the roof? Mine seems to be quite demanding - the key has to be within the car for it to stop beeping and complaining about the key not being in the car :)

I also lost one of my smart keys and someone on the forum sent me to the Hyundai site where I could purchase a new smart key for $219.00. My neighbor totaled his Genny and gave me his spare but when I took it to the dealer it did not re-program.

Does anyone know why a used smart key could not be programmed?

I'm ok buying a new one but also read on the forum where I might have to buy two due to the way these are programmed!
