  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I made a stupid mistake and am posting here so others can learn . . .

If you call HyundaiUSA for support, be aware that they communicate with your dealer before they contact you. This is especially critical if you are having repairs done to your car.

I called to ask HUSA a simple question. The answering rep only wanted my contact info and VIN. Said he had to "pass me to a Genesis-trained rep" who would call me back.

Three hours later, they did call me, but had already called my local dealer for details about my car and problems. This upset me because now the dealer thinks I'm griping over his head about his workmanship and service. Sour relationship.

I chewed on the HUSA rep about doing this - they seemed unphased. Their attitude uncorked me to unleash all of my anxiety about the 5 warranty repairs needed on my 11-month old car that have not been fixed after three trips to the dealer.

Now I must decide whether to entrust my car to the dealer's (waning) integrity or live with the problems. Probably the latter.

I think I'm "over" Hyundai and will be trading in soon . . .

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Can you describe the nature of your problems with the Genesis? I assume you know that you can take your car to any Hyundai dealer for warranty service.

Really sorry to hear about your problems. What exactly has gone wrong?

Of course they are going to check with the dealer to see what has transpired before they can decide what else to do, if anything.
