  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Took the car out to the 1/8th strip this last week. Had fun for my first time on a drag strip. I won all but 1 race, although I don't know why.

RWD, JB4, 450 kit, map6, CPI, intercooler, BMS Brake mod, dif brace, 275/35 PS AS 4 tires.

I raced an early 2000s trans-am, a Tesla, Dodge Challenger Demon, and a Charger Scat Pac 392.

The TA and Tesla races were probably the most solid. The best I ran was an 8.3 @ 88.99 but my reaction time was way off! I realized that I had started keying off the sound of the other car rather than off the light. That's weird right? I believe I was trying to keep to much in my head (ease into the pedal, shift here, what's that noise?, nerves, etc).

I don't know what the Demon was doing. The guy had his hood open earlier in the evening and was talking about making 800+ HP on 93 octane. Which is just stupid HP! Maybe he was afraid of the car?

Tesla race was pretty close, I had minimal spin and we were close the entire way. I think his reaction was better than mine.

The 392 race was dumb, we both spun for what seemed forever. He gave up so it wasn't really a race. I let off, caught, then went pretty good.

Links for 3 of the races (girlfriend didn't even notice the TA race and she still had the slip):

Cool. You did well. Was the track wet? That would be a big equalizer.

No, it was prepped. I'm not sure what the deal was. I had more wheel spin than what I expected though. My first run it wasn't bad at all. I could hear the tacky stuff on the tires when pulling up to the line. Maybe it was wearing off as more cars went through?

Congrats on your good runs!

The sticky coating does wear off as more cars go through. You should be able to launch a little harder, I'm also RWD and get 60 foot times that are 1.98-2.1 seconds.

A few questions:
What RPM were you launching at?
What was your density altitude (height above sea level, temperature, humidity)?
Have you had your CPI setup evaluated by Burger tuning? I'm trapping 88-91MPH in the 1/8th mile, without CPI. You should be doing 2-3mph better than you are if your E85 mix and CPI parameters are correct.

@ejguillot I wasn't using launch control, but brake snip. Not sure of the RPM. Id wait until after the first yellow then roll on throttle. So whatever rpm it was in that 3/4 of a second. Not sure of humidity but was at sea level and probably 70 degrees out.

Yes, BMS looked at the logs but was map 3. I'm just now figuring out how to build map 6 on e40. Still working on getting it dialed in, but am getting close. I'm at 21 lbs boost and 65 on fuel bias. Think i have more headroom for more boost. EWG wires are on order which should help me maintain boost through gear changes.

I think you're right, I thought I should be in the 7s. Going to try again this Friday, weather permitting. I'm going to try some different things this go around.

To enable CPI, you need to run map 7. See the appropriate jb4tech.com section.

No you don't. Once you turn it on it applies to all maps.
