Drag times with the v8...i got it!!!

Well...I wouldnt say its official...but pretty darn close!

There is an application for the Iphone called DYNOLICIOUS!

You input the make/model and weight and it hits the internet for specs.

You then hit the start button...let it calibrate...and GO when it says go!

Here is my latest time slip and you can see just how accurate it is.

It even tells you when you've had a bad run, your top speed for the run, even your G's!

Apparently here is what it came up with:

0-60-- 5.67 seconds
1/4 mile-- 13.8 seconds at 109.8 mph.

AND THATS WITH WHEEL SPIN on my BALD Dunlops!!!

Wow this is really cool. I think my friends T-Mobile phone does a similar feature.

He was in my car as I was driving and he pulled the info off his phone...... My cruise was set at 65mph and his phone matched what the Navi displayed, which was 62mph. Very interesting. He did mention that he uses this on his Honda Repsol 1000cc to get his 0-60 and 0-150 etc.

So with .2 milliseconds of difference...I'd say it is pretty accurate!

Heck...if I'm pegging 13.8 in the 1/4 that means it would all boil down to reaction time when it comes to racing the Pontiac G8 GT!!!

I've seen different lbs on many different sites when reading about the Genesis, but the US Hyundai site claims the following for the V6 and V8 lbs:

Curb weight (lbs.) 3,748 V6 4,012 V8

No, the fuse was in place. It wasnt enough spin to trigger the stability control but the way I feel, is that if I did catch it on the punch I should be able to drop a millisecond or two...therefore, getting close to your 13.5.

It was on the initial surge. bark...bark...bark....bark...PULL

Maybe I should burn the tires before my next pull.

Another thing, had I not just been to the grocery store, it probably would have been even better.

4 cases of cokes, a case of bottle waters, food and a full tank of gas.

It really makes me wonder what this car would do with no passengers, no spare tire, an empty trunk, some good new asphalt, and a gallon or less of gas.

Yeah, this makes me think about how my tire spin would have been if I rememberd to disable the ESC (Which I do each time I get in my car, but somehow forgot) when I made the MagnaFlow Testing video I just posted today. I saw the ESC light up a couple of times up to about 25 mph and felt the rear brakes kick in. It could have been kinda cool if I turned the ESC off and I also was driving over the painted parking lines which reduces traction.

Once the engine has some miles on it and its broken in, it should be stronger and pull better times. No ECS will help as well if you can manage the wheel spin.

Its always fon to see these big cars at drag strips!

Sorry to rez this thread, but I love their tests [/sarcasm] Look at the 0-100, and then look at the 1/4 mile. They are saying it takes 1.1 seconds to hit 4mph faster?

Btw, Gold Z - a "heavy" genesis not hitting 13.8? My truck weighed 5200 lbs, similar HP (362 rwhp) and snapped 13.7 - so it can be done! I drive with my helmet in the trunk just in case I get an itch to hit the track (5 min from the house)

1.1 seconds to pick up 4 mph at that speed seems reasonable to me. I'm not where I can look it up now, but you could go to one of the mags and see what the 10mph increments are. The faster you go, the longer the increments (DUH).

AHHH, just found that I have a Road & Track with me. Similar performance cars - a 2010 SHO Taurus. 12.8 seconds to 100. 15.6 seconds to 110. That is nearly 3 seconds to pick up 10 mph - so the 1.1 to pick up 4 mph is right in line.
