  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've had a DH Genesis 3.8 for a few months and for a refined vehicle I'm really surprised by the way a few settings do not save.

These are:
  • Drive mode (defaults to normal)
  • Autohold (defaults to off)
  • Cruise control enabled (defaults to disabled)

Could I get confirmation that this is normal and others have the same experience? Are there ways to have these settings remembered, or have different defaults?

I usually drive short distances, so having to toggle this stuff every time I get in the vehicle is tiring.

Thanks
Tom

Sorry to learn of your great fatigue. Your vehicle is performing normally.

Drive mode defaults to how it was tested for EPA mileage. Write to your congressman to change it. It will stay in ECO though.
Never had a car that the CC stayed on once the car was shut off.
Auto Hold will put the parking brake on for you when you shut down so that makes you equal in button pushing at the end of the trip.

Thanks for the insight, I was expecting some legality is why it works this way, even for the Australian market in my case.

Good suggestion regarding auto hold and the parking brake, I hadn't picked up on that!

I've driven Honda's for many years and they have physical click in/out buttons from the cruise control, so yes, I'm accustom to it always being ready to go.

Cheers
Tom
