  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In the three years and 21k miles that I've had my G70, the Driver Attention warning, suggesting I take a break, had only come on briefly a couple of times. In those instances I wasn't sure why and I didn't need a break, so I always thought it was a bit silly.
Then the other day I was driving and for some reason began to feel very, very tired. The Driver Attention warning came on and pretty much stayed on for about half an hour, until I arrived at my destination. (My wife was with me and made sure I stayed alert, haha). It actually came on before I even realized just how tired I felt.
I was really impressed with how well this technology worked! Pretty cool.
I was wondering if others had similar experiences.

Yes, it actually does work. I've only had it come on twice on very long trip and yes, it was time to stop for a break.

On long trips when I take a pee stop I'll often recline the seat a bit and just lay back, eyes closed for just a couple of minutes. Makes a difference on an 800 mile day.

Pretty cool that our car can drive while you sleep.

Not while you're driving I hope 😂

Some roads are really long and straight. You have to sleep with your hand on the wheel or the damned beeping wakes you.

Do you also have the lane keep assist on?
Don't know for sure, but I think it may sense a little left to right wandering to come on. I run with Lane Keeping on all the time and every time I've seen the Driver Attention warning, I can't say I was tired/sleepy, but lane keeping is always trying to jig a little correction which doesn't bother me in the least. I think I would be more nervous if it was rock steady between lanes.

My take on it is I think I'm able to scan more of what's in front and if I would with lane keeping off.
