  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All,

The car is a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L AWD with the Ultimate package. Currently at 47000 miles. The driver side seat's lumbar support is stuck at the fully forward position. Pressing the button decrease lumbar support does nothing. It also appears that the button to move the lumbar support down does nothing. I think the lumbar support is also stuck in the highest position. This makes the driver's seat incredibly uncomfortable over long durations.

Diagnostics so far:
- Scan tool at local mechanic showed no codes
- Relays Fuses are all good
- No relay sound when decrease lumbar support switch is pressed

I believe the lumbar support is a sort of balloon that gets inflated / deflated. My driver side seat's lumbar support will not deflate.

This is a Carvana purchase and I'm running out of the 7 day window on deciding whether to keep it or return it. The local Hyundai dealer told me after an inspection that the car is in otherwise excellent shape. I had only just realized the issue with the driver side seat at that point, and I am now in a hurry to make a decision while all the shops around here are busy and cannot give me an appointment. I am currently working through making a third party warranty claim for the issue and having the problem diagnosed, but I am not too hopeful of concluding this within my window. I like the car otherwise, and would like to keep it if the fix is easy / relatively inexpensive (<$500).

How hard / expensive is it going to be to simply deflate the lumbar support bag without damaging it permanently?
How hard / expensive will it be to actually fix the issue?

Thanks for your time!
