  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6L sedan that I'm trying to sell, the Driver's side door lock / window up & down mechanism on the driver's door is working intermittently (sometimes it works, but usually it doesn't), and I'm trying to get it fixed ASAP.

I'm wondering if I need the entire unit--pictured here

If above part is what I need, will the same part from a 2009 Genesis fit my 2011 Genesis? This one is cheaper:

or do I need just the actuator, pictured here:

I realize the above is for the passenger door, I'm just trying to figure out what part I need.

Any help / links to the part I need to order very much appreciated!

Suggestion:

Do a proper diagnosis and identify the failing items (which can be wiring and/or corroded connectors) prior to firing the parts cannon.

Our cars have known water-intrusion issues in the doors due to worn/loose/failing window seals.

As mentioned above...
Pop the door panel off and check wiring first before you go buy anything. Maybe it's as simple as a loose plug.

Hello,
I bought my 2010 at the end of April when the weather was cooler. Now that the daily temps are above 90F, I find that my driver's side window switch does not want to function. It works well in the evening or morning when it is cooler. Any thoughts on this being the switch, a plug, or wiring?
It has equal dysfunction for all windows.
Thanks,
David

I have a 2011 Genesis with same recurring issue. Is this a manufacturing issue since no one really seems to have a fix it answe

I'll second that. I had water coming in on the drivers side thru the two wires grommets going to the side view mirror. So far a liberal dose of dielectric lithium grease has taken care of it. Easy to get at.
