drivers side mirror malfunction

my mirror does not return after shifting down when I put car in reverse.....passenger side fine........any ideas????

where to look....ideas.......annoying..............thanks in advance

The shop manual page is scant on explanation, but gives the pinouts so you can measure voltages and/or manually drive the unit w/ 12v to check from connector to actuator. No wiring diagrams in my manual, unfortunately, which will be useful and probably necessary for troubleshooting the wiring from that connector the other way to the BCM. There is a test function available if you have a scan tool that can interact with the BCM.

thanks for this info......in your opinion, do you think changing out the mirror controller on the door might fix this? I can probably find a used one and am guessing it is plug and play?
