  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone else had the issue where the drivers side window is nonresponsive?

I have had this issue come and go over the past 6 years. Symptom originally was that 2-3 presses of the button were needed before window operation would be normal.
In year one the switch was replaced, which solved the issue for about a month. I chalked it up to software issues and lived with it as sometimes it worked first time, and pretty consistently would work after 2-3 presses.

Year 4-5 the issue worsened, alongside other electrical issues popping up. Had the wiring harness replaced and all was well.

The only issue that has come back in year 5-6 is this darn drivers side window. Now it will not roll down at all, no matter how many times you depress it.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Is there a fuse I could pull to see if it is a software reset issue? If not I might try to disconnect and reconnect the battery.

If not I guess I will have to take it to the dealer, outside of warranty.

Following up on this one, disconnecting the battery did nothing. Dealer wants $185 just to diagnose, no thanks.

I pulled the door panel and it's clear that the switch is working, but the window motor/regulator is only making a single click noise and not actually moving the window.

I located the replacement part 82450-b1000 and will swap in a new one. Hopefully this will fix the problem for good.

I was able to detach the part from the window. Under no load it spun/stuttered momentarily, then spun freely. I ran it awhile in both directions, then reinstalled and is working fine.

Sometimes you get lucky!

Motor/regulator module is plug and play. One connector and three 5mm bolts. Very simple.

Here is the video for the door panel removal, in case anyone else has this issue of hesitant or stuck window.

So the same old motor is working fine after removal and operating it with no load? Interesting. Must have been stuck.

Yep, so far so good, it's working fine again with the old part. I did not take pictures but there is a plastic gear that rotates within a plastic bushing, greased. It did kind of stutter/hesitate on the first no load run but then ran smoothly. Freed up, hopefully just a small piece of debris. While running freely, the bushing seemed to float up 1-2 mm, but then back down when reversing direction. Possibly normal, maybe not though as could indicate friction point. when installed it seems it would not have room to float out. Fwiw I ran it while applying finger pressure on the bushing and it stayed put.

I tested it with the window load by applying hand pressure to hold it the module in place. Worked great, window went up and down at normal speeds with no funny noises. No signs of weakness. Then bolted it back into place and reassembled the panel.

Here is the exact part for a visual. Was getting ready to order from eBay at $85 delivered for a new OEM unit but did not have to, obviously. MSRP is about $189.
