  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey everytime I try to drive up my drive way (which is steep), my back tires seem to get stuck and just roll in place when i tap on the gas. Of course I do this all cautiously and I try to drive up from an angle cause I don't want to scrape my car which always hurts. Does anyone else get this problem? If so, what do you do?

I've had the same problem on my driveway. Just keep your momentum going by taking it a little faster and you'll be fine.

As a new owner to this new car, I feel hesitant to increase my momentum cause the sound of a car scraping against pavement hurts. But I guess I have to sooner or later huh

My driveway is similar. The sport suspension on my Track model is very stiff and allows one wheel to come off the ground when I turn off the street. I questioned the limited slip differential not working until I did some research on the type of limited slip rear end the car is equipped with from Hyundai. You can do as suggested and go a little quicker or just apply the brake a little bit to make the other rear tire engage and stop spinning. There is a little timing to it, but it will indeed work.

The first time this happened I was caught across a small ditch with one wheel off the ground. We were at a ballgame where you had to park in the grass. One rear wheel would spin leaving me stranded. That was when I wondered why my limited slip was not working. Turns out there must be a little resistance to make the limited slip design work. That is why you can add a little brake to make it work.

Here is a link that explains how it works...
