  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently changed the passenger side amber DRL on my 2015. I have only 15,000 miles on the vehicle and this is the third set of burnt-out bulbs I've changed since I purchased this car new in early 2016. Today, I noticed the driver's side DRL is out, so attempted a change. Tried 3 different bulbs and none would work. Then realized none of the lights (headlight, turn signal etc.) on the driver's side is working. I live 200 miles from the nearest dealership and being the holiday weekend, I will have to wait until Tuesday to call them. I read some of the prior posts about the DRL problem and headlight issues and saw where some dealerships are covering headlight replacement under warranty. Can anyone tell me why this is happening or what response their dealership has had? I'm sure my dealership will say "we have never heard of this issue with any other Genesis', just yours", even though it is all over the forums that this is a regular problem with the 2015 models. I'm a little frustrated about the entire thing and don't feel like shelling out hundreds of dollars for repairs when it is a design flaw. Won't know until I talk to the dealer, I guess.

first thing I'd check is the wire harness to the headlight- make sure it's plugged in tightly. if it came off that'd certainly display the behavior you are seeing.

I have a 2015 Genesis 5.0 and I have the issues with the DRL/Turning burning out, had them replaced several times. This time I had the dealership replace the bulb and wiring harness on both sides and now nothing is working in the left headlight assemble, had the right headlight assemble replaced a couple of years ago, due to headlight not turning on. Seem to be yet another issue with Genesis.

Oy-ve!
I should be so lucky to have such problems.
My car’s been in the shop for almost a month due to head unit, parking guidance sensor and backup camera fails.

A bit different. I changed the right DRL/signal about 3 months ago (second one - I assume I may not have put cover on really tightly before). Anyway now, several months later, so possibly unrelated IMHO, the passenger headlight AND DRL don't work, but the signal lamp does.
So I assume there is either:
1. a fuse/relay issue.
2. a wiring issue - hard to believe EXCEPT I had oil change and tire rotation 2 weeks ago, and I DO NOT know how long the headlamp + have been out.
3. Both headlamp and DRL filament are out - odd
4. when one of these two lights goes bad it makes the other not work.
Any advice? And, yes, I was VERY careful to avoid finger oil on the lights I replaced.
Gary
