If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Guys,

My car was in the body shop and ever since i got it back, my DRLs are not working. I am in the canadian side and for us, it should be on during day time.

so my question is, if anyone knows how this is enabled for the canadian cars. is it somethign in the dealership menu in the AV? or some physical module under the hood?

what ever it is, my body shop guys forgot to put it back. I am wondering if anyone ever ran into this problem before?

of course, it is being taken back to the body shop. i am just being curious.

thanks in advance

Wish I could help, but I've had the same problem since buying a used 2009 last December. No DRL's. Asked a service advisor about it and he had no clue. As a matter of fact after giving him the VIN, he told me I have an American car! Starts going on and on about no record exists for the VIN etc. He later realized he made a mistake in the VIN! I'm not big on dealer service anyway, but sometimes it's necessary. Needless to say I walked out. Still looking for a good dealership experience. I've read somewhere here about it being a fuse related thing. Perhaps someone will chime in with the answer.

thanks for the reply. i checked my fuse and it is there for the DRL. Also, it is not burned out. Check your manul and it will tell you where you can find your DRL.

So they sold you a car without dRL? isn' that illegal?

I hope someone here can point us in the right direction though. i am really hoping it is something in the dealership menu in the AV, but i have never been to it.

It was a private sale, not a dealership thing at all.
I'm curious if your car came with Fahrenheit instead of Celsius as the default temp setting? It can be changed and I had to do just that as it was in F initially. But then again, a run down battery can also cause that, but I have no reason to believe that occurred during the 1.5 years of previous ownership.

What type of damage caused the body shop visit - what portions of the car were damaged? For example, the wiring to/from the dash fuse boxes is different between US and Canadian models, and at least one of the fuse panels is different. One of the differences is the DRL fuse slot - it's not connected to anything on US cars.

Most of the front end electrical stuff is controlled by the "Front Area Module" aka "FAM" in Hyundai's service manuals. That module is region and model year specific; it's located in one of the plastic boxes under the hood, near the back of the engine bay on the right (passenger) side if I remember correctly.

My bumper and passengar side lights were damaged. So both had to be replaced. SO ever since the visit, it is not working. Body shop is going to look into it. I was just curious if it was a car setting item where i can enable something rather than having to take it back to the body shop.
