  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Like many, I've had frequent blown bulbs in the left front DRL/turn signal. Usually, a quick replacement gives me a temp fix.

This time, I replaced the bulb and it still didn't work. Inspected the socket, and it showed signs of heat damage. The connection appeared okay but it doesn't work.

So, I'm thinking of replacing the socket assembly. Any pro tips on how to do that without removing the entire front headlight. The only video I found online suggested that was a necessary step.

Pretty sure the socket has a connection about 4-5 inches behind it on the wire that you can unplug

I recommend replacing the bulb with LED bulbs in the new socket and add a resister outside of the headlight housing to avoid hyper flashing. This will reduce the heat and the new socket will hopefully give you a better connefction.
