Hello I have a 2013 Hyundai Genesis sedan with 3.8; 6 cylinder. The check engine light came on. I retrieved the code it was P0021 'A' Camshaft Position-Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 2). Code scanner stated the camshaft on bank 2 was over advanced 20°.
First thing I did was research the internet found this site and changed the oil and filter and confirmed it's at the proper level.
So next thing is to test the OCV on Bank two and verify that it's functioning correctly. Also apparently there's a filter in line before the OCB but I can't seem to find that anywhere.
So went ahead and tested the resistance on the OCV.
Chilton's States Specification : 6.7 ~ 7.7 Ω.
Using my digital multimeter the reading I get is 12.
I have only encountered the P0021 code. No DTC for Bank 1. Only Bank 2.
Both Bank 1 and Bank 2 OCV's test out at 12.
I get the same reading of 12 on both of the lower ohm settings 6000 and 600.
When I switch it to the upper three settings 60K, 600K and 60M. I get a reading of 0.00 or 0.01.
Maybe I'm using the digital multimeter incorrectly?
