  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 4.6 Tech had developed a rattle in the front passenger door. The dealership inspected the door and identified a broken clip retainer. Since the entire door cover is one part number they have ordered a brand new cover under warranty, which had arrived within 48 hours. It was installed the same day but the rattle still persisted. I have been offered a ride with the Genesis tech, who could not hear the rattle during the test ride most likely because the difference in 96 degree outside temperature during the 2pm test ride vs. my commute in the morning when it was in the low 70s. Regardless, he proceeded to disassemble the door again and reinspect all parts for potential sources. He had identified the air duct assembly, which was installed uninsulated inside the armrest. He had insulated it inside some rubber foam and reinstalled the door cover. Now, it seems the rattle is gone for good.

This was the first issue I had with the car, which I have purchased from them in March. I have to say I've been impressed by their treatment and the level of support as rattles are very tricky to isolate. They told me this was the first Genesis that required this type of service, they never had to take off the interior trim before. Also, although this was not an issue for me at this time, they mentioned they were completely out of service loaners due to every one of them being sold as part of the CASH program.

For your reference, their service dept number is 888-400-4974 and the service advisor's name is Jerry.
