  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2011 Genesis sedan 6cyl with Premium Package (which includes IMS) and Premium Navagation Package. When exiting the vehicle, the steering wheel goes up as it is supposed to, but the seat does not go back. The dealer tech first said the car was not equped with IMS, but after seeing the window sticker agreed that it did. He then said it was not activated - but after reading MY OWNERS MANUAL for 20 minutes they were unable do anything. They obviousily know very little about the Genesis. Any ideas???

IMS is the mirror/seat/steering wheel position memory, using the 3 button controls on the driver's door. "Seat Easy Access" is the one that moves the seat rearward; "Steering Easy Access" moves the steering wheel out of the way to make entry/egress easier. Easy access are options on the Tech package cars turned ON/OFF via the DIS menu; on non-Tech cars they have to be enabled/disabled by the dealer's plug-in service/updates computer - there are no user-switches/settings/controls to configure easy access... if the vehicle is capable of both "easy access" functions in the first place. I'm not sure the non-Tech cars have the seat easy-access function.

If the service plug-in computer can enable seat easy access, it'll most likely be in a "variant" settings menu.

Thanks for the input. One more question.Given the option packages I indicated, would it make sense that the car would have the steering wheel exit feature but not the seat feature?
