  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Last week I took my wife's 2010 4.6 in due to cold start misfiring problem. They did a reflash and I got more than I was expecting. I had noticed slight throttle lag when pressing the gas pedal but never complained about it. There has been a lot of Posting on this.

Here is what it says on the service document."connected to GDS and retrieved P0300 and P0303 fault traced to and found ECM needed upgrade per TNN 10-FL-015. Retest ok.

That's all it said. Hope this helps.

I am a happy camper. Car seems to have no lad, instant power and smoother power band.

My suggestion is to complain about cold weather start or just call and ask about this TNN reflash.

What do you mean in terms of 'smoother power band'? You feel like you have more power at lower RPMs?

Sounds like you can only get this service if you've got a P0300 or P0456 code and a Check Engine light.

TSB 10-FL-015 attached for reference, and here's a snippit from it:

For all I know, they might have used that TSB to make a series of software changes to fix a bunch of nagging little issues. MAybe it is all in my mind yet the overall drivability seems better. It just seems to have a better low end response and smoothness. Push the gas, get immediate power the the great 4.6 keeps pulling.

My service manager told me that they do not check TSB's unless the customer complains about a problem.

I would test the system and complain about cold start and tell them what this TSB is.

TNN - Tech Net Note

These typically equate to TSB numbers. When your service guy hooked up your Genny to their GDS (global diagnostic system) it probably spit out the TNN number when your car popped the P0300 code, which then told them to update your ECM.
