  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What does the ECM update do to the 4.6 v8? Took the car in for a Navi update and the brake switch recall...the service tech said I also needed an ECM update...why?

They updated my ECM. I can tell no difference. Nav added a lot of streets and POI.

OK great thanks for the reply...was there any changes in the transmission shifts...more firm for example?

I had my ECM updated about three-four weeks ago and it seems that there is the difference in transmission shifts (quicker response).

I had the ECM done but cannot tell any difference. I just had to reset almost everything regarding radio/seating position/mirror position, steering wheel position/ but my stinkin' headrest still creeps up!!!!!!

Anybody else have an issue with the rising headrest??

I also perceive the transmission as shifting more aggressively since the ECM has been reflashed. I experienced no problems after it was done.
