It's a long sordid story, but the short of it is that my 2012 Genesis Sedan 4.6 has been at the dealer's since late June 2021 waiting for a new ECU. I can't even sell the car because it won't start in order to demonstrate that there's no problem with anything else. Even as it has ~96,000 miles, it's still a very nice car and ran perfectly until the ECU failed. I sent a complaint to Genesis about the delay, but all they did was to call the dealer who gave them yet another ETA, which they relayed to me, and which has long since passed. I know there's a chip shortage, but this is getting pretty ridiculous. My service rep has sort of thrown up his arms on this issue as if it is the "new norm". At this point, I don't know what else to do. (Before you suggest, the dealer can't reprogram a used ECU. I even tried having the existing ECU rebuilt, which resulted in throwing away $900 and was a waste of time.) Any helpful suggestions?
