  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My electric windows will sometimes not respond when I try to roll them back up (have not noticed the non-responsiveness when trying to roll down).
I usually give the drivers side door a gentle tap or 2 on the side near the buttons and they respond. Anyone else? Any advice on what I should do? Seems to be happening more frequently lately and I don't want to wait to long in case warranty is an issue.

If it is still under the 5 year - 60K mile warranty, I would take it the dealer. However, if they cannot replicate the problem, you will have a hard time getting them to do anything. If it only happens occasionally, you might want to record a video of it and take the video to the dealer.

I recently had a similar issue on my 2013. The dealership looked at it and replaced a bad window switch module. Technically it was the Switch-Assy-P/Wdo Main (pn 93570-3M623-PR2). It was under warranty.

There were no indicator lights or anything to tell me what was going on. Simply that the windows did not want to go up sometimes.

Is it only the drivers door, or is it others, too?

Switch might be going bad.

Thanks for all the feedback! It's good to know that this should be covered by the warranty (5 years - 60k sounds good since I'm only at 4 years and < 60k)
Also, even though it is hard to predict, I was able to record on my phone the last time it happened...I'll show that to the dealership. I'll make sure to update this after it has been fixed in case someone else has the same issue.
Happy Holidays!!

The same thing happened to my 2013 Premium a few months ago. Windows go down fine, but sometimes not back up. Was very inconsistent, figured it was a bad switch. Made an appointment at dealer 3 days out, but in 2 days it stopped happening. Cancelled the appointment and haven't had an issue since.

Were you able to show the dealership or did they take your word....Was yours also intermittent?

My Equus did the same thing on driver's side front window. It intermittently wouldn't switch window back up. Dealer replaced the switch, no further issue. They took my word for it.

Mine was also intermittent. I did record a video of it but did not show it to them. When I dropped off the vehicle I explained the issue and they, according to my recollection of how she described it, found a code that said the window module was bad and replaced it.

I just started experiencing the front drivers windows not responding when pushing button to roll up. After much frustration, for me, if i roll down the passenger window, then hit both, they both consistently respond. Coincidence, maybe.

I also have trouble sometimes with the driver and passenger mirrors not responding when the up button is depressed.

When i take mine in for oil change, i'll have them look into both of these.

When I bought mine I did the usual new car manual read and actually read it from cover to cover. One of the oddest things I read was that you should not roll down more than one window at a time. I've always done this but it says not to. Mine is a 2012 fyi.

Is it OK to chew gum and roll down a window at the same time?

Update: dealership fix electrical switch in drivers door under warranty. Note: they had to special order part. Don't wait, 6 year warranty per repair supervisor. Glad I finally did it too.

Amazing. I was having the same issue....
The main switch will let the windows down but not up.
I did not feel like fooling with the dealer so I bought some electric contact spray. Took door panel off and did my thing. Has worked since with no issues.

Now, that fixed the damn rear drivers door will not lock or unlock with remote or switch. Very annoying so I did take it to dealer for that.
$650 door actuator. LOL that is what the service department told me. I laughed in his face and I said NOPE. $50 with my warranty. 3 hours later it was fixed.

LOVE Hyundai Warranty
