  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No. I prefer a smaller (exterior length) car. And I also prefer one that was designed as an electric car, not one where the power train was yanked out and replaced by batteries and motor(s).

A sunroof that opens, HDA 2, a rear wiper, better rear visibility, better quality interior materials, better styling (subjective), and 20" wheels instead of 21" wheels (another preference). All the reasons I ordered one after previously having a GV60 on order. I understand that a bespoke EV platform would normally be preferred but I see no downside to using this platform that from inception was designed to accept both EV and ICE components. Only negative is that it's ~250 lb heavier than the GV60P. Choice is a great thing.

I agree 100% with Jaws.

Weird why they took this long to release it. They pretty much debut it a few months after the GV60 in Korea but looks like they strategically delayed release to see how the GV60 does.
Looks like they’re banking on US buyers preferring a bigger vehicle compared to the GV60.
I have to agree that the GV70 is way nicer looking. Gorgeous even compared to the GV60.
As far as bespoke platform, these are all first Gen EV vehicles. Even the GV60 bespoke platform will be outdated soon.
It BMW i4 is an amazing vehicle and it is basically a 4 Series GC. The GV70 is already on a pretty solid ICE platform and the only downside is how efficiently it could have been packaged!

I will definitely upgrade to the GV70.

If Genesis improves their customer service. (looool)
And whenever it switches to a dedicated EV platform.

The GV70 looks great. I came from an Acura MDX. If I was Car shopping now, I would have considered it because I was very concerned with the GV60 size. But Now that I own a GV60, a larger vehicle is not appealing to me at all.

The E GV70 does seem to represent a better value than the GV60 P in that you get the more powerful motors and a larger vehicle for less money. Of course there are differences in standard equipment that somewhat balance that out.

It seems to be industry standard that the “coupe/sportier” version of any SUV is the pricier option, so Genesis’ model positioning aligns with that.

In our case, we didn’t want another SUV-shaped vehicle and we really like the GV60’s looks, so we’d have chosen it regardless.

As has been stated, more choices are nice to have!

I love it, but simply do not trust any cars out of Hyundai/Genesis Alabama for at least another two years of operations. The plant was setup in a rush to meet the EV credit requirements, and the probably for minor issues to crop up in the first couple of batches are pretty high.

It's interesting that Genesis USA seems to be using cost-based pricing vs. something more market-driven.
The eGV70 is a fair bit more expensive in Canada than the GV60.

I agree. That’s why I’m happy that eGV70s supplied to the Canadian market are being built in Ulsan.

Wow, did not think of these differences. Of course, Ohio still isn't allowed to sell any Genesis EVs yet so I would have to go out of state again. HDA 2 is something I really want and have agita that the Ioniq 5 and Palisade both have but my much more expensive GV60 does not.

Oh wow, just went the site to build one. Only three colors so far, plus one matte.

Limited color choice initially and not built on an EV-from-ground-up design, but what a cool addition to a growing list of attractive alternatives to ICE cars.

I love the look of the GV70. I would miss all that open interior the new EV platform provides. I wonder if Genesis will take the Ioniq 6 and make that into a new Genesis model. We really liked our 17’ Ioniq electric.

I prefer the look of GV60 more than eGV70. To me, the GV60 is just the right size and I prefer the GV60 E-GMT platform and the "face recognition" and "finger print" high tech system. Although I also prefer a rear wiper, but balancing the pro and con, I will still choose the GV60.

I agree with this. In fact, I also was close to getting a GV60 but ultimately am glad I held off until the eGV70 was launched. One thing I particularly like about the eGV70 is that it pretty much looks like an ordinary crossover and the unsuspecting simply wouldn't have clued in that it's an EV.

According to an article in Motor Trend magazine, when the GV70 was designed, they had future electrification in mind. The result is that there is very little compromise with the GV70e. The floor level in the back seat area might be about 1" higher and there is no spare tire as the rear motor takes up most of that space. On the plus side, about 100 more hp because of 2 motors!
And, it is a beautiful vehicle.
