  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi hope someone can help with this issue. My 2011 4.6 has a clanking noise coming from the right rear wheel almost sounds like two dice hitting each other, it's not a continuous sound only hear it under 30mph and more noticeable going over a bump or making a right turn. I thought it was a broken pad retainer so I changed the pads and retainers noise is still there, now I'm thinking it might be the electronic parking brake shoe is loose and moving around when I turn or go over a bump. Has anyone else experienced this? Just wanted to check before I take it to the stealership. Thanks for any feedback on this

The rear on my vehicle has always popped (sounds like a spring in a tin barrel) when putting the car in reverse first thing in the morning. About a year and half ago, one of the rear shoes came off. Yes, literally came off. The rear wheels seized and vehicle had to be towed to dealership. HMA warranty would not cover this item. I thought about fighting them, but it was $300 or so and not worth the hassle. Their stance was it was brake related so a wear item lol...yeah brake shoes becoming unglued is a wear item I guess

Re: Electronic parking brake shoes **Update**

Ok so this noise was driving me nuts after replacing the brake pads didn't solve the problem I pulled the rotor and checked the parking brake shoes, but nothing was loose now I'm thinking this is going to be a costly repair as I rolling the tire to put it back on I heard something inside the tire....turns out the noise I'd been hearing was a broken TPMS sensor tumbling around and hitting the rim :)
