  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can someone please tell me the torque number for the two bolts that hold the bar over the air filter box?

It's not a critical component on the car so I usually let the impact hit 3 or 4 times when I re-install mine. So, tight, but not two uggas and a dugga tight.

I have to admit I too never bother to put the clickers on those bolts. Just go by feel with the ratchet wrench.

Having wrenched on cars/bikes for more than 35yrs does give me a pretty good feel. Still, on some engine and/or suspension bolts, I still whip out the clicker and get a second opinion.

Thank you sir!

I don't have the 2.0 engine, but I never have used a torque wrench on any air filters related bolts, nor even the engine braces. As already stated by others, experienced helps with tightening bolts like these, while a torque wrench is best used when optimal torquing is more recommended.
