Engine no with new fuel pump

Hello,

Working on a friends 2015 Genesis V8 5.0. It was running great until the fuel empty lamp turned on then the engine did not restart.

Have disassembled the old pump. The mesh was black with dirt. Cleaned everything and did a direct test to the actual pump. It’s made a click sound, but that’s it . I think it was clogged with dirt from the tank.

Today I installed a brand-new genuine pump. That one didn’t seem to start either. During earlier OBD check I found a fuel pump module error which I have cleared and it never came back.

I’m a home DIYer. This is my first time to work on Genesis.

You didn't specify if you replaced the HP pump(s) or the LP pump in the tank.
Did you check the resistance of the fuel pump control valve on the HP pump (if you replaced that)?
0.47 ~ 0.51 Ohms [20°C(68°F)].

I assume you checked and replaced the fuel filters?
I assume the LP fuel pump works? Did you check any fuses were blown?
