  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have the 2012 RSpec but the same issue with the navigation button. I just tap it hard a few times and it starts working again. This keeps it working for a while. Months even. Make sure not to pound it too hard.

I joined today for this same reason. Was hoping someone found a fix for this, as my wife's 2012 3.8 sedan does the same thing.

Thanks to the generous knowledge-sharing on this site, I was able to fix this issue on my 2012. It seems that the failure of the "enter" function was due to the failure of the Grayhill 60AD18-4-M-060C optical encoder, which is the electronic part just underneath the jog dial. This part translates the rotation and "push" into electrical signals sent to the head unit, to browse through all the screens and "press enter." I ordered it from a company called DigiKey in Minnesota, which stocks all sorts of electronic parts. Listed for $114, brand new, not including shipping.

The part actually used by Hyundai is the 60AD18-4-M-020C. The difference between the 060C and 020C is only the length of the cable that you connect to the circuit board. The 060C is more likely to be in stock. I've never been able to actually find the 020C in stock anywhere. The cable is longer, so you just have to fold it up a bit when you install it. Not a problem, though, it operates exactly the same as the 020C part.

Replacing it involves almost all of what you would have to do to replace the entire module, anyway, and it's the only part that actually failed. Plus it's a brand new part, not a remanufactured or used part.

I just replaced mine yesterday. My "press enter" stopped working about 6 weeks ago. I got the part from DigiKey a couple of weeks ago, along with a trim removal toolkit I ordered on Amazon, but haven't had time to perform the surgery. Took a little under an hour and the infotainment unit now works like new. The whole process was much easier than I feared. I am a very happy camper.
