  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I noticed the digital time on the touch screen would take a long time to update and display after I start my 2015 3.8 sedan. This morning, funny enough, driving to the dealership for an oil change I noticed the date and time was completely off (Was set to Feb). So I manually reset it. I told the service guys and they said they rebooted the system and said they could not get the time to display. To my surprise, after I drove off I noticed it was not displaying the date and time anymore at all even after a long drive. I tried to go into the clock and set it myself but it would not allow me to. Even if I switched off GPS to manually enter the time the option was all grayed out. Is there a way to reboot/reset the system manually?

Seems like a lot of clock problems today. I wonder if they are related to something.
There is a pin hole on the front of the unit. You can use a paper clip or possibly a ball point pen.

Check to see if your navigation is working since satellite contact is needed for that too.

SatNav seems to work fine. Radio works fine as well. I'll try to reset it with a paperclip in a sec.

I think it is a GPS network problem. Mine was off this morning showing a Feb 2036 date.
I turned off GPS clock and manually reset it to todays date & time. When I turned GPS clock back on it switched back to the wrong time!

I just reset it again and the time would not come back. I even popped the SD card out and back in to restart the SatNav system. Still no dice. GPS is the only slider I can change on the clock set menu. Everything else is grayed out and the only time that displays is "-:--". I hope the analog clock in the console works, but when daylight savings ends not sure what will happen.

Depending on your placement in the northern hemisphere you may be experiencing US Navy GPS jamming.

I'm in the middle of Texas so unlikely. What I find strange is it will not even let me manually set the time.

But maps are showing your correct position as you drive?

I have the same problem in Northern California. All is working well except the digital time is not shown.
From what I read in another thread is is a satellite problem. The fix is, while the car is running to remove the SD card and then replace it.

I actually did that today. It didn't do me any good.

Came here today because my clock is broken today. GPS location works fine. The GPS Status screen shows a bunch of satellites, correct elevation, and Map shows me exactly at right spot. Someone tell the Federales that their GPS system is broken. Hopefully this gets resolved. The really sad part is the Genesis software developers left a nice fail in the code: no way to manually set the time (that setting is greyed out).

I was able to reset the time and date after turning off GPS mode. After turning it back on, time and date were correct, but the time is not displayed on the screen. The analog clock is now correct.

Did you just toggle the GPS off and back on? I did the same thing to no avail. Did you wait any amount of time?

Funny you posted this, mine just stopped displaying the date/time, as well as the "phone connected" notification. What gives?

Same here. On Saturday the time was wrong, in setup I also found the date was wrong (1926). I turned off the GPS time and manually set it. I also tested the GPS and it was working fine, so it knew where I was located but couldn't seem to match the time. I turned the GPS time back on and it changed back to the incorrect time. I turned off the GPS time and and left it on manual time. On Sunday, the clock and date that show on the top of the screen display were completely gone. When I went into settings, everything was greyed out and I couldn't change anything. It's the same today (Monday). Fortunately, my little analog clock has managed to keep the time since I set it manually on Saturday.

I popped the SD card out and back in while driving to work this morning. After the system rebooted the date and time appeared correct. Not sure if remitting fixed it but just glad it is back to normal for now.

I'm having the same issue in my 2015 Genesis sedan. No time displayed on digital clock (just dashes). Analog clock works fine. Most options in clock settings greyed out (except GPS time on/off). Glad to hear I'm not alone. Will try the SD card eject/insert later. Thanks for the info, folks!

I was also having this problem until I did the 12.5-v13 update this morning. Now it works fine.
