  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Equus (2011-2016)
I assume most reputable independent auto service centers are able to provide general maintenance services for Equus. Since the Equus line is being discontinued herein North American and changed to the Genesis, will it be harder and most costly to service Equus? Other than Hyundai dealers?

Any mechanic can do routine service like oil changes and engine air filter changes. For most other stuff, I would take it to a dealer even if you could find an independent mechanic to fix it. I am not sure why you would want to take it to dealer. I would always use OEM parts for any maintenance.

The fact that Hyundai Equus is now being sold as a Genesis G90 effective with the 2017 model, doesn't have anything to do with the difficulty or cost of maintaining a 2011-2016 Equus.
