Equus Ultimate - SOLD
Fellow Forum Members:

I purchased my Equus about a year ago and loved everything about the vehicle…except, like many vehicles from the factory, the glaringly large and unsightly wheel well gaps. As many Equus owners also know the handling falls a little short due to the top heavy nature of the Equus. So in addition to achieving a cleaner look, I also wanted to lower the vehicles center of gravity in an attempt to achieve better performance handling. Having a technical background I found these two items over time to be less than satisfactory so I set to work on finding a solution.

After scouring the intraweb for months I unfortunately could not locate a single supplier in the world who manufactured an air suspension lowering kit for the Equus. So, it would appear the RSD would have to come from me. I began by researching electronic modules and found a company that successfully lowered an Equus, but the cost of achieving this were abominable (i.e. a few thousand dollars)! In addition, the module limited the degree of lowering and the system had to be hard wired, yikes! Removing the modules would also prove labor and cost prohibitive as well. Clearly, not a solution. Fortunately, I was able to redevelop a new strategy, one that included creating and installing a variety of trial and error adjustable links systems over several months. Thankfully I found a solution! Results showed up to a 2 inch drop front and rear. Of course, you don’t have to go this low…or you can go lower if the suspension and your road conditions allow.

This is an original design and these are the only fully adjustable lowing linkages available for the Equus worldwide. The links are made of the highest quality A4 marine grade stainless steel available, so they will not corrode over time and will hold up to even the most extreme weather conditions. The hardware itself is manufactured in Germany and consists of only the finest grades and highest tolerances.

Installation is extremely simple! It will take more time to lift the vehicle and remove the tire than it will take to install the links. Anyone with minimal technical know-how and access to common household tools can very easily install all four links in well under an hour. Best yet, the kit can be very easily removed if you wish to return to the factory, OEM ride height settings.

The kit includes 4 adjustable links, 2 front and 2 rear. Detailed instructions, including photographs, will also be provided and I am always available to help answer questions. In addition, if you are local to me I will be happy to install the links for you in exchange for a tank of petrol.

When taking into consideration the quality, engineering RSD, rarity, ease of installation, and finished product one could never go wrong! 100% ebay feedback member so buy with confidence!

I'm convinced the south Koreans could sell twice as many if they dealt with the suspension and "gaps" in the wheel wells. From certain angles, the car is way too bland because of the elevated suspension. Love the look of the lowered vehicle. Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this aesthetic issue.

Certainly...when I pull together the next set I will be happy to share a few more pics. Don't have a set on hand at the moment since they are all custom made to order. Thanks, hope to get some other folks Equus' looking cleaner and lower very soon!

Folks,

For a point of reference, here are a couple photo's from before I lowered the car. Hard to make out since I snapped the photos quickly with the cell phone, but you can see the horribly glaring gap in the wheel wells. The thing that drove me to do this was actually the front wheel wells more than the rear. For some reason, and I can't believe the aesthetics engineer didn't catch this from the factory, but the front suspension in many instances (at least on my Equus), tended to raise itself more than the rear (since the two front passengers weight is more over the front of the vehicle). When parking, sometimes the suspension would lower, sometimes it would not. BOY...when it would not it looked really silly in parking lots, almost like I was ready to off-road, lol. The pictures may be suddle since I only wanted to lower it a couple inches (again...you can go lower with this kit), but in person the result and appearance after lowering is phenomenal. By far, really a great investment and will make your car finally have the high end appearance that it deserves.

Before lowering links installed. The Equus looks like its ready to go 4x4 off-roading IMHO, lol.

Virtually no wheel well gap after lowering links are installed. Really gives the Equus the high end fishing stance it deserved from the factory!

would this cause problems with 2012 equus that has aftermarket wheels. 20" 245/40/20 9" on front and 285/35/20 10.5" on back?

Hello Fellow Q Owners!!!

I would love to offer a Group Buy for sets of adjustable air links to other Hyundai Equus enthusiasts like myself!

They work great and really change the look of the Q - provides more of a Audi S / Mercedes AMG sport suspension stance IMHO w/o compromising ride quality! Lowers the vehicle minimally, about 1.5 inches (but can adjust to achieve even a lower stance if desired), and the factory ride high adjustment button still remains fully functional.

If we can secure 10 pre-orders I can offer kits at $149 shipped CONUS.

The BEST part of this offer is A portion provides support for our military veteran families!

Please see my listing here for more info about the kits and to character reference my 100% feedback!

Bought this item. Great product. EZ-PZ to install, but it is essential that all four wheels be off the ground and the suspension fully extended before installation. Installation itself takes mabe ten minutes. While not in the instruction, I suggest disconnecting battery before raising the car. Better yet, disconnect battery leads and press them together so as to reboot car's computers.

Did this not make your ride a bit more stiffer?
