  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know whether the Hyundai Equus will have a self parking option? I mean it does have a front and rear camera. Thanks!

Going by the one I saw, the answer is .... YES. Front (in grill) and back.

as far as self parking...probably not.

However, I was given a tour of one at Bently Hyundai in Huntsville.

It does have front and rear cameras. The sole function of the front camera is that it turns on when you get below 10 mph. It aids you when pulling up to curbs or in tight spaces or stopping in traffic.

At least that is what the Equus pro told me...HA!

Just thought I'd ask since they are moving into the upper lux market to compete with Lex, BMW and BENZ. It'll be great if it had the self parking feature, then they would really shut down the competition. But so far I love the car.

Yeah. The feature is really cool BUT...

I had the opportunity to try it out while I was looking to by a Lexus. Its definitely a game changer but not worth the price or the headache.

It takes too long to work. For example: if I am driving down a two lane road in downtown Hartselle (where I live) and I saw a parking spot on the street (parallel only) I would have to pull forward of the spot. Put the car in reverse and then look on the screen. I then have to adjust the perimeters to see if the car will actually fit in the spot. If so, then I slowly back up and wiggle my way in.

Yes its cool but its not worth the headache of all the drivers behind you that are getting PISSED because your stopping traffic.

Not cool and you can bet that you'll get a finger when you get out.

Thats my opinion. HA!

LOL. You have a point. It's bad enought that they'll already be mad cause your car looks better than theirs and that its a Hyundai! Yeah, I might get two fingers. LOL. I am so excited to just test drive this vehicle. I will then decide whether or not it will be a retirement gift to myself.

I have the self-parking feature on my Lexus LS460. I've used it twice - once to see how it worked, another time because someone wanted to see how it worked. It's a novelty feature and by the time you line it up and tell the computer where you want the car, you could have already parked it yourself.

Cool feature in the "look what my car can do" sense, but in everyday life situations - it's not something I use.

How bout moving upmarket by adding Bi-Xenon headlights instead of low beam Xenon and Halogen high beams aka Genesis.
