Equus Ventilation

Yesterday during a 950 mile drive into 30 degree temps, my wife complained of a draft from the vents on the top edges of the dashboard. These vents have no open/closed position. I diverted the heated airflow to the floor, but noticed that the cold draft was not affected.

I assume this is by design, but when in heat mode, I don't see the purpose of cold air being directed at the driver's hands and faces of the driver and passenger. Seems counterproductive.

Any thoughts?

Haven't noticed anything like this. Did you before she complained?
Wondering if it's a bad seal?

I hadn't noticed this before in 14 months of ownership. It's a 2012 Ultimate.

There always seems to be a draft on the two outboard vents facing the side windows on the top of the dashboard. (Not the regular vents on the ends which can be closed)

I guess I'll have to check it out on the next service visit.

I have never experienced this with my 2013 nor my 2014.

In terms of the filtration system, I have been wondering if the 2014 Equus has the same “CLEAN AIR” properties as the 2011-2013 Equus..(The Sante Fe and Elantra have Clean Air) . On the climate screen in the 2011-2013, it displays “CLEAN AIR” but the 2014 doesn’t display it. I have been doing some research but no resuls.
