  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Having an issue with my 2015 3.8 sedan. A/C starts cold, blows well…. Then all of a sudden barely blows cold air at all- you hear the fan blowing but very little coming out the vents. Switch off AC, leave the blower on to get the outside air in and it blows again .

Leave for 5 minutes, turn on the AC again and it blows cold for a while…. Google search suggests the evap temp switch? Thoughts…

Thanks

Hi, I was having the same issue with the A/C randomly blowing warm and getting cold again after turning A/C button off then on. It would happen multiple times when driving and became annoying. So I took the Genesis in for diagnosis at a local auto AC shop. They told me it was this part: MANDO 22A1402 A/C Compressor Control Valve | RockAuto

I ordered it and had them put it in for I think it was about $200 - $300 since the access to the part was buried under several things.

Since then the issue has resolved. It used to get warm almost every time I used the A/C before they replaced it. This was much less expensive than replacing the entire A/C compressor and A/C works about 99% of the time for me afterwards. When it doesn’t I’ll cycle the A/C button every couple months.
