  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Every once in a while you run across a product that works exceptional well for the application it was intended for. I found a degreaser at Wal-Mart, of all places, that is superior to any I have ever used and the price was an unbelievable $3.06 for a gallon bottle.
I was looking for something that didn’t contain solvents or petroleum by products to clean a barbecue grill. They had a degreaser made by Kess Industrial Chemical Company http://www.kesschemicals.com/ called Fresquito Degreaser which is completely bio-degradeable.
I tried this degreaser on the grates of the grill (you know what it is like trying to clean of the burnt on stuff from cooking on the grill) I soaked the grills in a 50% mixture of the degreaser and water. After 15 minutes the burnt on “stuff” just about fell off the grill.
I have used this product for just about every application for cleaning off dirt and grease that has come along and have been amazed at how well it works. A little on a rag really cleans up the engine bay on my Genesis and Nissan truck and does not leave a coating that dirt will stick to is one application I have used it for.
If you come across this product give it a shot, I’m sure you will like it and find many uses for it like I have. :)

Looking for such a product. Will give it shot.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. Is as good or better then Simple Green?

Question...how harmful is it to paint at full strength?

Reason being...I wash my engine bay with really aggressive solvents that will eat paint. But I don't have to wipe or scrub. I spray on, rinse off and the engine bay is clean. I would like that luxury in a gallon bottle :)

I’ve tried just about everything to clean grease and dirt, but this is truly the best product I’ve come across.
Simple Green can hold a candle to this product impo. Just about every day I find another use for this product and I haven’t had any issues with paint reacting to this product so far, but I would do a test it in some inconspicuous place especially if using full strength.
I’ve put some in a spray bottle and cleaned brake dust off of my wheels. Cleaned tires and since my Genesis is loaded with electronics under the hood, I don’t take the hose to that area, but rather blown the lose dirt off the engine and engine compartment with compressed air, then use a rag with this stuff on it to wipe any grime that is left.
At one time on other cars, I use to take a pressure washer to the engine and engine compartment then start the car and drive it like it was stolen until the engine and engine compartment dried out. Just don’t have the b@lls to try that on the Genesis.:D

We used to pressure wash the engines of the Geney's at the dealership. They're pretty well sealed up ;). So it sounds like this will take off all of the grime I'm looking to get rid of :D

Thanks for the info. Be interested to try.

Here is currently what I use, which I bought through my detailer at a discounted rate. This gallon will probably last me ten years.

This all surface cleaner is perfect to have around for degreasing engine bays, wheel wells, tires, interiors, and much more. The concentrated formula works effectively even at a 10:1 dilution ratio and can be made stronger for stubborn stains. The low sudsing formula of the APC+ makes it a perfect match for carpet extractors. Mist the APC+ on the desired surface and let sit for about 45 seconds, then rinse thoroughly with water. For stubborn stains, use up to a 4:1 dilution ratio and agitate the stain with a medium bristled brush. The All Purpose Cleaner Plus is apart of the Meguiar's Professional Detailer Brand, which offers tremendous value and functionality that every detailer can appreciate. This extremely versatile product should be in any detailers arsenal of products.
