• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "2009 Genesis" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 2009 Genesis Sedan" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... My Yamaha FJR 1300 motorcycle makes the same sound, but only when cold. I've been told that its due to the rich fuel/air mixture provided by the ECM for a cold engine and some of the unburnt fuel actually ignites in the muffler system instead of the cylinders upon deceleration.

That's exactly it as far as I understand! In addition to that, some cars utilize this to help spool up the turbos a little quicker. Evidently combustion occurring in the turbo manifold still increases pressure and spools that exhaust turbine even more.

That said, I have no idea if that's what they are doing in the G70 - probably not, because those turbos are SO tiny and so close to the ports as it is, I really don't think they need any fancy anti-lag tuning like described above.

Pretty cool either way; but too loud for me. Haha.

I think it done via the ecu using fuel cut-off overrun, lean air fuel and timing changes. I would think an ecu tune could do it... I was thinking JB4 but because it's a piggy back I don't think it would be capable.

My 6MT sport exhaust definitely pops and crackles once it’s warmed up. Especially under engine braking. Sounds great, although I’d far prefer hearing it with the 3.3T in front of me...

I just picked up my 2.0t manual a few days ago and have not heard any crackling or popping even with the windows down cutting the throttle at 4k rpm. how/when are you hearing this?
