  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2013 r-spec will the later exhaust manifolds work on mine they look more like a header it looks like they would flow better. How come the later 5.0 engines horsepower dropped to 420 but torque went up the later ones had dual air cleaners how much better do they flow.

Different strokes, compression, pistons, valves, who knows what small things were changed in 2015.
As for the air cleaners (air filters) you do know the R-spec also has 2 air filters right?

Monday I had my resonator replaced with an x pipe, axle back increased from 2" to 2.5" like the rest of the exhaust and had the round black widow widowmaker 10s put in the stock location. All 4 cats are still on the car undisturbed. There is definitely an increase in part throttle acceleration at low speed or highway speed. Full throttle seems better but I haven't been back to the track to get numbers. I have also removed the flappers in both air boxes.

Doing what I did would be cheaper and much easier, not to mention the sound. The widowmaker is a straight through muffler but absolutely does NOT sound anything like a straight pipe or glasspack. It is loud under acceleration but is unbelievably deep toned. Cruising at 70 it isn't very loud, I can still talk to my 5 year old in the backseat.

What's not to like about that? If somebody doesn't want to hear their exhaust or have "droning" they could just leave it stock and play exhaust sounds over the radio.

My Pontiac Bonneville sounded like that many years ago. I bought a Genesis for quiet.

The first clip sounds good, just not for me these days.

I like the old Bonnevilles, those are some nice cars.
Seriously. Most videos you can't really hear the drone. Can't imagine what it really sounds like in the cabin.
It sounds mean under acceleration and engine braking, cruising at 70 though you can have a normal conversation. I grew up around muscle cars, hotrods and race cars so what's normal or less than normal to me may be terrible to somebody else.
