  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When my wife drives the car, when she leaves, the steering wheel tilts upward and the seat backs up a few inches. Easy exit. All well and good - but when I try to get into the car the seat is not back far enough for me to get in easily (I'm a big boy --- o.k, o.k I'm fat!). If I push the button on the door for my seat memory, the steering wheel comes down (to my preference) and, again, I have difficulty getting in. When I get out, the seat goes back even further, steering wheel goes up - easy exit. Easy entry next time as well!
Seems to me the quick fix would be to adjust the detent and have the seat go all the way back for every exit - but the Dealer says that it can't be done.
Anybody else run into this problem?

Seems to me like the easy fix would be for your wife to click on your setting (1 or 2) on the door before she exits...

or just get a fat wife....lol

Maybe a diet is in order. That could solve a number of problems.

When you open the door, you can just push your memory button BEFORE getting in.

The only fix is to have the wife push your memory button before she suts teh car off to exit. I had to train mine to do the same as it's very difficult for me to get in the car on her setting. I'm 5'9 and she's 5'. Big difference in seat settings.

IF you push the button AFTER the car has been turned off, it will go to that setting. Also, as in my case, and probably yours, since the wifes settings as far different than mine, on her setting upon exit, it dosen't go back as far or as low as it does when it's on my setting.
