  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had my 2009 Genesis at the dealer for state inspection today and took the opportunity to have a chat with the Agency General Manager. He shared with me that the dealers have been told of two additional models coming to the Hyundai luxury line; (a) a "3 Series" rival that will be on a shortened Genesis chassis and aimed at the small BMW, and (b) a replacement for the Vera Cruz that will be a luxury 4 seat crossover. To me this sounds like Hyundai has plans for a seperate Genesis franchise as all of these higher end models can't possibly share a showroom floor with Sonata, Tucson, Elanta, and Sante Fe.

Must be true. Heard it from a Dealer and/or on the internet. :D

Yep- I think the 3 Series fighter is called Sonata. Why build another rear drive platform when you can add AWD to future Sonata offering.

As far as SUV- Hyundai already has Veracruz, Santa Fe & Tuscon. Why make more?
FOMOCO is minus a division (Mercury) GM minus 3 (Pontiac, Olds and Saturn) More line ups does not create more sales typically.

Nah, it's called the Elantra.

Sonata is WAY too big to be a 3-fighter. It's a foot longer! And only 6 inches shorter than Genesis.
