  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking for comfort. Looking for something that rides closer to my 2001 Buick Century. The i5's ride is not bad but am looking around for possible better ;)
Can't go sedan as I want/need the entry height.

Welcome aboard, @hwitten! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. You currently have a BMW i5? If you're looking for something close to the ride comfort of a 2001 Buick Century, your best bet with a Genesis SUV, in my opinion. will be a GV80... But overall, it's going to be a major challenge trying to get that type of ride comfort with ANY CUV/SUV. For that, a G90 - or to a lesser extent - a G80, would be your best bet. But that's a sedan, so......

I drive a GV60P but I drove an electrified G80 for about a month as a loaner. The G80 drove well with one major flaw (IMO): the trunk was tiny. Essentially a G80 is a cruiser and a cruiser should have decent storage. I like a suspension system that tells me what I am driving over but doesn't kill my bad back on the other hand. The G80 tends a bit toward the floaty side compared with the GV60P. I haven't driven the electrified GV70 so I don't have an opinion on it but it has been getting good reviews.

I came to the Genesis from a BMW 5 series (but before the i5 existed). I test drove and loved the performance of the i4 and iX but couldn't get past the looks so I went to the Genesis. Also, for me, a smaller vehicle is better (it did have to pass my golf bag test).

The biggest complaint I have seen about the Genesis electrics are two related complaints: (1) Is there a dealership reasonably near you (same metro area?); and (2) Are the local dealerships good to deal with. If you peruse the GV60 forum you will see many complaints about some dealerships and praise about others.

So far, after a year, I have been happy with mine (Genesis of North Scottsdale). But there have been some horror stories on other dealerships.

Incidentally, Genesis calls mine an SUV but IMO it is really a raised hatch. It does give you substantially more height to enter and leave compared to the BMW sedans (which I have previously owned) and also has easy exit/easy entry which helps. During the one year I have owned the car I had a painful hip and a hip replacement and the BMW would have bene much more difficult to get in and out of.
