  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Howdy,

Am enjoying the new ride but lack of spare is concerning. Anyone have experience on what all is needed to be all set?

I searched some threads and figured ezspare was recommended. But for my model they show a 20" alloy spare tire and wheel at $420. How would that work, given mine has 22" wheels?

- What all accessories should I order alongside
- And will this slide right into the cargo space or there is more adjustment needed
- Do the dealers also provide setting one up with spare

Here is the link if it works - 20

This is the same one that I purchased. It is slightly smaller in diameter (29.6 vs 30.5) than the 22" that came with my GV80, but since its for emergency use only until I get to a tire shop, I am ok with it. I als bought a lug wrench and a jack

Someone mentioned that the Wheel on a 22 inch is larger, but the tire is smaller so both have the same height so it will work fine as a spare. I Don't know if that is true or not, but I do know that if you look at the 22 inch tires, they do seem to have less of a sidewall than 20's

For the stock tires, that is pretty true, the 22" is 30.4 and the 20" is 30.5 (typo on my response prior, as the 30.5 is the size of the 20"s I ended up putting on mine). The EzSpare is a little smaller, but in emergency its better that driving on rims ;-)

Don't forget to also purchase a positioning pin to assist with the tire change if you're going to use the spare. The wheels are held on with lug bolts, not nuts, so there's nothing to hang the wheel on when the lugs are removed unless you have a positioning pin.

It came in the fixit kit I beleive

Has anyone used the fixit kit? Do you recommend getting a spare instead and if so is there space to store it under the trunk? I just got my GV80 a couple days ago.

It did not come in mine. There would be no need for it if you're using the kit as the wheel never comes off the car in that scenario.

There is place for a spare in the back when you open the floor storage.

I will look again, but it was in the same package as the original lug bolts. Unfortunately my car is in the body shop so not sure when I can verify
