  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Got the car with some weird discoloration to the plastic trim on the pillars (see pic, not sure why it flipped). Can’t tell if it’s faded or if it got a bad detail job.

Does anyone know how to fix it, or does it need to be replaced?

Any help appreciated.

It's faded. There's a lot of people who just wrap it. I'm pondering that idea. I know ceramic coating restored the old black plastics on my old car but idk if it'll work here.

I just wrapped over my scratched pillar trim in my 2015 Genesis with a 3M DiNoc carbon fiber pre-cut vinyl kit. Still looking good years later.

The vinyl DiNoc carbon fiber pillar covers first installed in 2018.

That looks awesome. I'll have to look in to that. Even looks good with the barn find dust.

Thank you.

My car have been garaged for about a year while I tackled a lower front timing cover repair that was very involved(dropped sub-frame and upper oil pan removal). Hence the insane amount of dust.

The vinyl overlay is very thin so they look like OEM carbon fiber upgrades. The carbon fiber pattern does not show up unless light hit the pillars from a certain angle. Generally the pillars look a matte black from a far; until you get close to car or look at it in direct sunlight. The dark carbon fiber pillars looks good with the metallic black car paint.

That looks really good, would you mind sharing where you got them and how much it cost? Did they come pre-cut?
