  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Help and thanks for any replies.

My 2015 3.8 red plastic dipstick tip is AWOL and I need a measurement of the red plastic tip in mm.

I also need to know how far from the bottom tip the low and full mark is.

This would be greatly appreciated. It is an order only item at the dealer, otherwise I would run over there and measure it myself.

Rather than buy another failure prone unit, I am going to cut and weld the metal tip of the correct length from a generic dipstick at Autozone or elsewhere. This will be a cheap and permanent fix.

Thanks .

From the O-ring on the yellow plastic handle... length to tip is 29-3/16". Oil fill lines are 27-3/4" - 28-1/2". Couldn't find a tape with millimeters.

Thanks so much @arcman SAE is just as good as mm. There are countries who use the metric system and countries who put a man on the moon.
