  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got a new 2013 Genesis Sedan, Tech Package. Also got the add on MPP Platinum coverage to extend all overages out to the 7 YR/100K Miles. Paid about 2000 for it but can cancel in 30 days. Covers failure due to wear and tear as opposed to the manufacturer defect. Basically covers anything thats not a surface, brake pads, windshield, tires, or scheduled maintenance items. Per my finance guy the big thing is bringing all the electronics out to 7 YR/100K.

So would like some feedback from you Genesis owners on if you also bought similar coverage and if it has been needed, If you've a genesis for a while and didnt get it, how much it might have saved you, and lastly i guess if 2K was a decent price.

Im a big researcher, so i hated having to make the decision in the finance office without opportunity to google and look around, so any feedback would be appreciated so i know if i should cancel in 30 days and get the full refund.

I bought my Hyundai PP (Fidelity) from Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta for $1200 several months after I bought the car. My head unit went out just after I hit 30K miles and it was replaced with no questions asked (twice, actually - the first replacement was "factory rebuilt" and was DOA, so they replaced that one with a new unit). This was at least a $3000 repair, so I figure my extended warranty was worth the price.

My plan is to consider buying an extended warranty at the 3 yrs/36,000 mile point IF I decide to keep the car.

I would recommend the warranty especially if you have the Tech Package.

You can purchase the warranty at any dealer, and some offer it on the phone/internet, for less money than you paid. I guess Jim Ellis in Atlanta is one of those.
