  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this on their vehicles. I noticed it after I picked up my new G70 and am not sure if it was supposed to be there, or did the dealer forget to remove it along with the protective shipping film.

Yes, suposed to be there. Those spots are prone to getting hit with reoad depbris so it is protection

Factory installed PPF. Supposed to ve there. Leave it!

This is probably a good example of why you keep them attached since it definitely helped protect the paint where it was. Now my question is - anyone know where to buy them? Dealership said $25 for one, but figured there might be a cheaper option elsewhere. Anyone have any experience removing one? I was thinking of using some goo-gone.

Factory installed. I took them off my 2019 and...more rocks hit that area than you'd think. I don't regret taking them off though, they're ugly and don't protect the whole area anyways, so if someone ever replaced them, there would be rock chips around the area and not on the PPF'd part, which would look weird.

Very interesting! What do you think caused that?
I would think that you could cut your own with an x-acto knife from a sheet of it....
I was reading somewhere that if you warm it up with a heat gun (be careful) or maybe even a hair dryer that it will come off easier. I also have read that goo gone is safe on car paint but to be sure I see they make some labeled for automotive use.

Some of mine aren't attached properly, they don't touch where they are wrapped around the edge.....

Guess mine were not installed properly as they were getting black crud around the edges! Couldn’t clean them out (dirt would not come off) so I removed them.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I’m not sure what caused it because it was the previous owner.
Good thought on purchasing a sheet and cutting it down to size, I’ll likely give that a try. I’d like to replace it because the others aren’t noticeable and it clearly did its job. I noticed the same thing about automotive goo-gone, but good thought on using a heat source first. Thanks for the advice.
