  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After 3 months I finally got my $528 back from COURTESY HYUNDAI in Tampa for a maintenance contract the bean counter snuck into the contract and which I didn't notice until the next day.

I have found that the whole Courtesy Auto Group in Central Florida is --------, well not the kind of dealer I want to deal with. Example;

A few years ago, my wife had a Buick, and she had a coupon for a $9.95 oil and filter change. OK, we happened to be near Courtesy Buick in Longwood Florida, so we pulled in and told the Service Writer we wanted the $9.95 oil and filter change, giving him the coupon. Well, I'm the kind of customer who WATCHES EVERYTHING, and does not let my car out of sight. I saw the tech remove the AC (General Motors) Filter and replace it with a White filter. (AC Filters are Blue). When I called him on it, he told me to talk with the writer. The writer said, "well if I wanted a factory filter, I should have told him, and it would cost me more". I told him that I never heard of a GM (or any corporate) Dealer using anything other than GM parts. Did no good as they would not do anything about it. (I did telephone GM to report this, but it does no good). A year or so later, I had a Chrysler Sebring Convertible, and Courtesy was opening their new Chrysler Dealership in Sanford Florida, so I was in the area, and dropped in, and was looking around. Talked with the Service Writer. Mentioned to him what happened to me at Courtesy Buick, and the Service Writer wispered to me, "we do the same thing". BTW, at my next oil change at another dealer, I took a look at that white filter. It was a "Formula 7" filter which is a brand that independent garages use because they are so cheap. This was a Spin On filter, not the cartridge filters used in our Genesis', but thats even worse as you can't see a cartridge filter, so you have no idea what Courtesy used.

Now, I'm just telling you fact that happened to me, and I'm not saying anything about you buying or servicing your car at any Courtesy Dealership. I do know that I will not deal with any dealer in the Courtesy Group for anything.

Mount Dora is pretty good compared to Dunnellon. At least you have an exotic car show every year.

Glad to hear you got your refund! I visited that dealership in Tampa but glad I got my Genesis elsewhere!

Thanks. Last week I got another check for $55 labeled SURTAX REFUND.
No idea what that was all about.
