  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Was going straight through an intersection on green, when a lady on the opposite side did a U turn and crashed into me. It was relatively slow so no injuries, but the door doesn't fully open at this moment.
I have it on dashcam and she stayed to exchange insurance info. I'm not too worried about the claim. But still it sucks...
It just happened today so the adjuster has not reached out yet. Has anyone had similar incident? Will they repair or replace the panels?

I would think two new panels make more sense here than trying to work out those hard creases, but I'm not a body guy.

I wonder if the firewall/A pillar is still a straight and true mounting surface for a new door and quarter, though?

I had a similar accident a few years ago on the same side on my Genesis. A car drifted in my lane while turning and dented my fender area. The repair shop replaced the fender panel and re-finished my driver side wheel that got scuffed.

Aftermarket body panels are easier to replace. A body shop just paint them and bolt them on.
